Independence Celebration 2010

The Embassy of Jamaica will be celebrating the 48th Anniversary of Jamaica's Independence during the week of 1 August 2010 by hosting a number of events.

A Service of Thanksgiving will be held at the Dumbarton Chapel at the Howard University Law School, on Sunday, 1 August, beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Celebrant is the Right Reverend Robert Thompson, Bishop of Kingston, Diocese of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

An "Open House" will be held at the Embassy from 3 - 5 August, from 11: 00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. The event will provide an opportunity to meet the new Ambassador, as well as other members of staff, to showcase the activities of the Embassy and to promote various aspects of Jamaica's culture.

Both events are open to the public.
