United States President, George W. Bush, at right, poses for a photograph with Prime Minister, Portia Simpson-Miller at the United States State Department in Washington, D.C. this morning after he met with the fifteen heads of states from the Caribbean at special meeting.  The Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Senator Anthony Hilton and Jamaica’s Ambassador to the United States, Professor Gordon Shirley.  The Caribbean heads are in Washington,  attending the first Conference on the Caribbean which began on Monday, June 18th and ends on Thursday, June 21st

Senator Anthony Hylton (seated right), Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, signs a Memorandum of Understanding between the Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC) and the United States (US) Small Business Administration, which will provide technical expertise and financial assistance to the country's small business sector. JBDC & USSBA Sign Memorandum

The United States (US) Small Business Administration and the Jamaica Business Development Centre (JBDC) have signed a memorandum of understanding, which will provide the Jamaican organization with technical expertise and financial assistance in support of its efforts to assist the small business sector.

Prime Minister Simpson-Miller addressed the People to People Diaspora Forum  at the Organization of the American States (OAS) in Washington, DC. . The Diaspora Forum was one of the highlights of the conference on the Caribbean which was held in Washington, DC, from June 19th to 21st.
