Jamaica’s
Ambassador to the United States, Professor Gordon
Shirley, at center, shares a happy moment with students
and teachers of Grade 1 and 3 at the Newport School
in Silver Springs, Maryland. Ambassador Shirley was
the special guest at the school’s recently held
Jamaica Day celebration. Approximately half of the
students in First Grade have parents or
grand parents from Jamaica.
