In presenting the award at Grenada’s 34th anniversary of independence reception at the Organization of American States (OAS) Hall of the Americas on Thursday, February 7th in Washington, DC, Grenada’s Ambassador to the US and Dean of the Caribbean Diplomatic Corp, Dennis Antoine, said the award is presented to Air Jamaica in recognition of the airline’s outstanding contribution, sustained commitment and collaboration on initiatives to benefit Grenada and the Caribbean. Jamaican-born missionary and evangelist Elsada Duncan on January 15, 2008 became one of the first centenarians of the City of Milton/Alpharetta, an upscale suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

Elsada Miriam Duncan was born in Brainerd, St. Mary, Jamaica, on January 15, 1908 to local farmers, Charles and Grace-Ann Pinnock-Duncan. The 7th and middle child of 13, she has outlived all her siblings.
