OAS Urged to Facilitate Cooperation to Address Climate Change

Minister of State for Energy and Mining, Hon. Laurence Broderick, has called on the Organization of American States (OAS) to play its part in facilitating cooperation between oil producing and consuming countries in addressing climate change.

Atlanta's Integrity Contributes to Three Local Schools

The Atlanta-based Integrity Children's Fund (Integrity) has contributed US$280,000 to three schools in Kingston and St. Andrew over the past seven years.

The schools are Joy Town Learning Centre, a basic school making inroads in early childhood education in Trench Town; Operation Restoration Christian School, a remedial school attempting, with excellent results so far, the educational rehabilitation of illiterate teenaged students; and Peter's Rock Preparatory School, a kindergarten and elementary school located in East Rural St. Andrew, was started over 15 years ago for children in the community.

Rehab Centre to Receive Medical Equipment

The Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre at Mona, in St Andrew, Jamaica, is to receive US$12,000 of medical equipment from the Rotary Club of Falls Church, Virginia, in the United States.

Club President, Ms. Carlota McCormack, said the medical equipment will include surgical beds with rails, utility bath trolleys, commodes, portable oxygen regulators, stethoscopes and digital thermometers, which will all be purchased in Jamaica.
