Prime Minister, Bruce Golding, has congratulated President -elect, Barack Obama, on his remarkable victory in the US Presidential elections.
In his congratulations to President-elect Obama, on being elected as the 44th President of the United States, Mr. Golding said Obama's victory is a testimony to the values of America's national motto- E Pluribus Unum (One from many), which has enforced the power of inclusiveness of the American dream.

Jamaica, an OAS Scholars Association is Launched |

An Organization of American States (OAS) Scholars Association in Jamaica was launched in Kingston on Thursday November 6th, to promote knowledge-sharing among member states through the OAS ex-fellows in the priority areas established by the member states.
The launch took place at the UWI’s Mona campus as top OAS officials meet in Jamaica with the University of the West Indies (UWI) and Haitian universities to advance a cooperation program.e next few weeks, by Finance Minister Audley Shaw.

The Honourable Olivia "Babsy" Grange, Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports with responsibility for Entertainment, has said that she is deeply saddened by the passing of Jamaican music pioneer and bandleader extraordinaire, Byron Lee, who died the morning of November 5th.
Minister Grange said that undoubtedly Jamaica has lost another of its "great sons of our music and culture."

Entertainers, politicians hail Byron Lee |

The late Bryon Lee was more than the smiling face of Jamaican Soca; he was a shrewd businessman and a cultural engineer who bridged the class divide with music for over four decades.
In hailing Lee, both politicians and entertainers found common ground calling him a pioneer. "Jamaica, indeed the world, has lost another great musical pioneer... One of the greatest band leaders ever to grace the entertainment stages of the world," said Prime Minister Bruce Golding.

| Jamaican Organisation Lauded for Campaign Against Breast Cancer? |

Jamaica's Ambassador to the United States, Anthony Johnson, has lauded the efforts of Women At Real Risk (WARR), in Washington, D.C., for their outstanding contribution to the fight against breast cancer.
Addressing WARR's ninth annual breast cancer awareness fund-raising gala on October 18, at the Washington Court Hotel, Ambassador Johnson noted that among the achievements the organisation has made since its inception, was the staging of a teen programme at the Mary Mount High School in St. Mary, where some 200 students underwent self-breast examinations.
